Philanthropy as a Way of Life
Tom Daniels from Landmark Lincoln was invited to visit St. Jude children's research hospital and FOX31 Denver's Deborah Takahara went along.
This trip made a lasting impression on Daniels. Â Sometimes you have to break out of your comfort zone to put things into perspective.
"When I'm having a bad day, all you have to do is walk through these halls," said Daniels.
Tom Daniels supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital even before he had the chance to visit it, but now he's an even bigger supporter.
"There's a lot of angels that walk around this property," Daniels reflected. Â
Daniels spoke to doctors and researchers who are working side by side to treat the sickest of kids, and cure them.
"I did have to mentally prepare myself for what I was going to see," Daniels said. "I was told after the tour, I would have more of an uplifting experience than I was anticipating they were absolutely right."
He also met patients who are stronger than he could've ever imagined.
"I can't tell you I saw too many angels. I saw a lot. These children, they are angels. Did you see them? They just have that look."
He brought those stories home to Colorado and his employees at Landmark Lincoln and came up with an event called "Driven to Give" which is a fundraiser for the hospital. For everyone who took a test drive in a Lincoln during the fundraiser, they donated $20 to St. Jude.
Tom said it's an honor to be part of something that helps kids here in Colorado and all around the world.
Landmark Lincoln also donated a brand new 2016 Lincoln MKC for this year's bonus prize in the Saint Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Karen Anderson of Aurora was the happy winner!
