Sometimes a driver will come in to Landmark Lincoln and complain that their cabin air filter is clogged. Upon further inspection, it turns out that the filter itself is so stuffed up with dirt that it's hard to even open the compartment that holds it. A few drivers go to the other extreme and change filters all the time, even when they're not needed.

If you're driving in heavy traffic all the time, then you might need to replace the cabin air filter more often than other drivers. A good rule of thumb is to simply inspect the filter regularly. Unlike the air filters in a residential HVAC system, you can't put a hard limit on how long these filters should last.

Some vehicles can go for a long time without needing a new one while others will need regular replacements. Keeping the interior of your car clean, however, should help to add a little extra life to your filter.
